Shri Dutt India is planning to set up a sugar manufacturing unit with a capacity of 7,500 tccpd at Sakharwadi, Phaltan taluka in Satara district of Maharashtra. It involves scrapping of the existing 1,250 tccpd plant.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 430 crore and spread over 28.17 acre of land. It will also include 50 MW co-generation power unit and 150 klpd molasses-based (B&C heavy) distillery unit.
The unit will generate employment for 410 unskilled workers and 595 skilled workers.
Shri Dutt India is awaiting environment clearance (EC). The work on the project is expected to commence by September 2020, and completion scheduled for April 2021.
